Primary research interests include:
1. microbial
diversity, particularly in the metabolisms of toxic organic pollutants and transformation
of heavy metals under strictly anaerobic conditions;
2. microbial
community structure and function in the natural environments;
3. microbial
biofilms including the mechanisms of initial interactions involved between bacteria and
surfaces;
4. biofilm
technologies in waste reduction, waste water treatment, pollution control, and
bioremediation processes;
5. biofouling and
prevention, and biodeterioration and biodegradation of a range of materials;
6. environmetal
toxicology of pollutants to animals and microorganisms and bioavailability of pollutants
in the environments. |
